OUR BASE INGREDIENTS - A MAGICAL ORGANIC SYNERGY

CALENDULA has a long history of use as a wound healer. It stops bleeding rapidly and prevents infection. It is also one of the most gentle, soothing and healing oils for all abrasions, and can be used on all skins - young and old. It contains high levels of the skin protective carotenes. Calendula is traditionally used in skincare for babies - it soothes nappy rash, cradle cap, in fact any sore and irritated skin. It is also very helpful for mum in treating sore and cracked nipples after breast-feeding, and torn perineum after giving birth.

CHAMOMILE is well known to help cool and calm restless and fractious babies, as well as soothing and speeding healing of damaged and sore or irritated skin such as nappy rash or eczema.

ALOE VERA has been recognised for several thousands of years as being a plant with powerful healing and beautifying abilities. Aloe's greatest sphere of action is on damaged epithelial tissue (your skin). Topical applications are very helpful to hydrate and nourish your skin, as well as maintaining your skins strength, elasticity and youthful appearance. It has been found helpful in the treatment of conditions ranging from Acne and Acne Rosacea through to Psoriasis and Urticaria. The organic Aloe Vera in all Live Native Skin Foods is grown in beautiful Andalucia. It is hand-filleted, cold-pressed through charcoal filters and unpasturised, retaining the therapeutic benefit of all its many biologically active components.

VIRGIN COCONUT OIL brings a wide range of benefits to your skin as a result of the symbiotic relationship it shares with the friendly bacteria that live upon your skin. These lipophilic bacteria release three Medium Chain Fatty Acids - Caprylic, Capric and Lauric. These fatty acids are naturally acidic and help protect the skins' acid mantle, as well as having powerful anti-fungal, anti-microbial and anti-viral effects. Coconut oil protects, nourishes and heals all types of skin. Lauric acid is also the essential fatty acid found in mother's milk that helps to build babies immunity. Mothers consuming coconut oil during breast-feeding can elevate the amount of Lauric acid present in their breast milk.

SHEA BUTTER is used for its wonderful emollient and moisturising properties. Its fatty acid profile compliments that of coconut oil. Coconut oil consists mostly of shorter chain fatty acids that are absorbed quickly and thoroughly into the skin to provide energy for the skin cells. Shea butter, being composed of longer chain fatty acids, absorbs less readily thereby creating a breathable, water-resistant moisture barrier on your skin. These saturated fatty acids are similar to the ones found naturally in your skin, and are the most stable when exposed to sunlight. They help prevent dehydration and also protect the skin from damage by environmental stressors such as UV, smoke and pollution. Shea butter also contains large, naturally occurring concentrations of Retinol and Vitamin E, both potent antioxidants.

VITAMIN E is so important to the health of your skin that we have added an additional 5000iu of natural Vitamin E with mixed tocopherols. Combining the Aloe Vera Gel with the Virgin Coconut Oil, Shea butter and Vitamin E creates an important synergy, where the impressive healing and nourishing effects of all are combined to bring you a pure and natural moisturising lotion, rich in essential phytochemicals and nutrients that are absorbed cleanly into your skin. Daily use of Live Native moisturisers provides your skin with all the nutrients it needs to stay youthful, well nourished and glowing with health.

fresh approach 1

To meet your healthiest, happiest, most energetic self, eat more raw food than cooked. It really is that simple. Stay tuned for our collection of best-ever recipes to get you started. May the life force be with you!

fresh approach 2

Are you getting your greens? They’re healthiest raw but remember, you can always juice them or blend them to make them go down nice and easy. Smoothie suggestion: blend a banana with the juice of two oranges and 100g of raw spinach. Seriously – try it! You don’t even taste the green stuff and it’s all thick and creamy to boot.
